Have you ever considered the effect, to human life, if a power outage persisted over a week or a month? Who do you know in the Valley that would be affected and how?
What is the time frame until suffering or death?
We’ve all gone a day or two without electricity. Most of us are mildly hindered in accomplishing daily concerns.
Considered as camping, the issue is initially small.
That is perhaps a week.
As the power down scenario persists, the injuries that ensue begin to snowball, life-threatening scenarios accumulate and a mycelial mass of unexpected yet interconnected issues begins an exponential expansion. This is a tipping point where the issues metastasize and become uncontrollable. Had there been a system, due diligence of local preparedness we would have capped Pandora’s box and kept a control valve on genuine loss of life.
Businesses may lose revenue and product but the most vulnerable of us, family members, friends, co-workers could (and will) lose life.
